Sievers Wins Discus at Sectional

The Manchester High School girls’ track team finished fourth at the Rochester Sectional and advanced 7 athelets in five events.
Brittany Sievers remained unbeaten on the season in the discus by winning with a throw of 125' 3".
“Britt has just been awesome all year,” coach Julie Cassel said. “She just gets better and better.”
The 3200m relay team of Hanna Schmidt, Liza Terrill, Darien Rodriguez and Andy Sharfman finished third with a time of 10:46.56, while the 1600m relay team of Lille Terrill, Schmidt, Rodriguez and Mackenzie Coulter-Kern was also third with a time of 4:28.01.
Coulter-Kern also advanced to regionals in the 400m dash by finishing third with a time of 1:03.91, and Sharfman advanced in the 3200m run by finishing fourth with a time of 12:50.94.
Finishing fifth and just missing out on a trip to regionals were Schmidt in the 800m run (2:39.60), Crystal Fuller in the shot put (32' 4") and the 400m relay team of Shea Rager, Terrill, Abby Penrod and Shady Tharp (55.19).
Coming in sixth place was Sharfman in the 1600m run (5:58.70), Abby Penrod in the 300m hurdles (55.40), and Fuller in the discus (103' 6").
Finishing seventh was Elizabeth Shilling in the 100m hurdles (18.76) and the 300m hurdles (55.97).
