Girls' Swim Team Drops Two

The Manchester High School girls’ swim team opened its season with a loss to Huntington North 126-47.
Huntington North won all 12 events.
Finishing second was the 200 medley relay team of Elizabeth Schilling, Lille Terrill, Kaytlyn Eberly, and Kaitlin Durden (2:28.40), the same foursome in the 200 free relay (1:45.72), Rebecca Ruppert in the 200 free (2:44.02), Durden in the 100 butterfly (1:29.15), Schilling in the 100 free (1:10.69), and Kirsten Ridenour in the 100 backstroke (1:28.17).
Coming in third place was Durden in the 200 free (2:54.89), Schilling in the 200 IM (2:51.73), Eberly in the 50 free (30.38) and the 500 free (7:23.40), Ridenour in the 100 butterfly (1:29.75), Terrill in the 100 breaststroke (1:43.72), and Ruppert in the 100 back (1:28.17).
Finishing in fourth place was Terrill in the 50 free (31.56).
“The team swam very well for it being their first meet of the season,” coach Taylor Clifford said. “This is a young team, so it will take awhile to figure out the best line up.”
Loss To Tippecanoe Valley
The girls’ swim team lost to Tippecanoe Valley 108-54.
Manchester won three events, with Rebecca Ruppert winning the 200 free (2:38.00), Durden winning the 100 butterfly (1:22.35), and Elizabeth Schilling winning the 100 free (1:07.01).
Finishing in second place was the 200 medley relay team of Schilling, Terrill, Durden, and Eberly (2:24.01), Eberly in the 50 free (30.22) and the 500 free (7:12.92), Schilling in the 100 back (1:20.77), Ridenour in the 100 breaststroke, the 200 free relay team of Schilling, Eberly, Durden, and Terrill (2:03.08), and the 400 free relay team of Terrill, Ruppert, Ridenour, and Durden (5:00.97).
Coming in third place was Ridenour in the 200 IM (3:02.42) and Terrill in the 50 free (30.90).
Finishing in fourth place was Ruppert in the 100 back (1:32.28).
